Company Secretarial Team

Colin Watts, company secretary, joined Makinson Cowell in 1999. He spent the previous 13 years at The United Bank of Kuwait, a British-based investment and commercial bank, where he held the positions of CFO and company secretary. Colin is a chartered accountant and has an economics degree from Leeds University.

David Laughton, associate and financial controller, joined Makinson Cowell in July 2008, having spent much of the previous 16 years working in a number of finance director positions within the charity sector, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Society of Medicine and, most recently, the British Lung Foundation. During this period he also spent 3 years at BBC Worldwide. David qualified as a chartered accountant in 1972.

David Gracie, associate, joined Makinson Cowell in 1999 and has been head of our Share Register Analysis team since 2004. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and the Securities Institute.
